“We’ve seen an increasing demand for TV and film requirements over the last couple of years and 2019 is looking set for further growth as we prepare for several exciting projects.
“We have invested in a number of divisional improvements to provide a seamless one-stop-shop for all aerial filming and aviation requirements. This includes the addition of the Shotover K1 system, purchased to eliminate risk of availability from external suppliers, while also providing a variety of cost-effective, best-in-class systems to production companies worldwide,” Abi Hensby, Operations Compliance Manager.
The Shotover K1 is the highest performance camera system designed and manufactured by Shotover to date. With the interchangeable front architecture developed to allow quick changes from a single payload to three (the Hammerhead array). The Hammerhead, houses three top-of-the-line DSMC2 Monstro 8K VV sensors from Camera giants Red, improving visual effects by synchronising the three 8K sensors in one flight. (Previously done by multiple fly overs and a vast amount of time consuming postproduction to try to create the same angle, lighting and other variables). The system together with adaptation, allows GB Helicopters to offer a superior level of sophistication for enhanced motion pictures and aerial creative’s an unrivalled level of stability, control and versatility.
The company also own and operate a number of other high specification camera systems including the GSS C516, Shotover F1 and Cineflex. All of which can be rigged to their AS355 & AS350 filming helicopters and can house best-in-class payloads such as the Red Epic Dragon, Monstro 8K VV to the Arri Alexa Mini; and armed with ultra telephoto lenses. The Freefly Alta 8 and the DJI Inspire 2 drones are also available for suitable tasks.
